Mission & Principles
The commitments UnityMLS makes to its members, and the standards its members agree to uphold.
Mission statement
To advance the interests of licensed real estate professionals by operating an independent, standards-based, member-governed multiple listing service accessible to any qualified practitioner in the United States.
Core principles
Members come first.
The association exists to serve licensed practitioners. Not investors, not advertisers, not portals. Every governance and operational decision is made against the interests of the membership.
Open standards, always.
Listings, reports, and reference data conform to the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) Data Dictionary and Web API. Members can export at any time. There is no proprietary format that traps your data inside UnityMLS.
Transparent economics.
Published fees. Annual audited financials. No mandatory add-ons. No penalties or fines for member behavior outside our published Rules and Regulations. What we charge is what we cost to run, with a modest reserve.
Neutrality on business practice.
UnityMLS does not dictate commissions, referral splits, buyer-agent arrangements, listing-agreement forms, or brokerage business models. Those are between licensed professionals, their clients, and their state real estate commissions.
Data belongs to the licensee.
Listing data is licensed to UnityMLS by the member who input it. It is never sold to third parties, never repackaged for external monetization, and always exportable in a portable format.
